NCME Conference Update

My Dear NCME Colleagues,

I hope this message finds you all safe and healthy and enjoying the summer.

I would like to let you all know, if you haven’t heard already, that AERA is moving their next conference to a fully virtual event in April 2021. The NCME Board has met and discussed what we wanted to do for our 2021 annual conference. Unanimously, the Board decided that since we are small and nimble, we would explore a potential space-based conference in the early summer, with the understanding that if COVID-19 continues to pose a health threat, we will convert our meeting to virtual only.

Additionally, even with a space-based conference in 2021, we will also allow for both in-person and virtual presentations and attendance. Our management company has been looking for meeting space that fits our needs. Therefore, as you all know, we have delayed our call for proposals for this year.

We will be releasing our Call for Proposals in a week or two, once we finalize our negotiation with the hotel property where we want to hold our annual meeting. Please be on the lookout for the announcement soon.

I know 2020 has been quite a journey in many ways. I appreciate your continued support and patience.

Ye Tong, Ph.D.
NCME President
