This event is being organized by the NCME Large Scale Assessment SIGIMIE.
The TIMSS & PIRLS international comparative assessments measure student achievement in mathematics, science, and reading across more than 60 countries. With over 20 years of achievement and contextual data, these studies allow researchers to evaluate educational performance and explore factors contributing to academic success.
This presentation will guide participants on how to navigate the TIMSS & PIRLS website, download public-use data, and understand the types of data and key variables available. It will also cover how to request restricted-use files and introduce tools for analyzing the data, such as the IEA’s International Database (IDB) Analyzer, using examples from the most recent TIMSS & PIRLS cycles.
