This webinar is from the Scaling, Linking, and Equating SIGIMIE.
Reporting scales are one of the most visible and widely used parts of a testing program. Many different criteria and methods can influence how they are designed, sometimes in competing ways. The key is to bring principles and practices together—so the scales not only support valid score interpretations and uses, but also help prevent misinterpretations and misuses. In this presentation, we share how we integrated principles with practical decisions when establishing reporting scales for a battery of medical achievement tests. We’ll talk about the program’s purpose, methodologies conducted, challenges encountered, and show how aligning principles with practice shaped the design and implementation of the scales.
