March Mission Fund Grant Committee Update

By Schuyler Nissly posted 03-29-2019 02:23 PM

As noted in the previous newsletter, the committee released a Call for Proposals for grants from the Mission Fund to provide support for individuals, groups, and activities. In developing the call, the committee worked closely with the NCME Board of Directors to align its work to complement the support of existing NCME initiatives. The committee received 27 applications that reviewed for responsiveness to the call, importance to the mission of advancing the science and practice of testing, potential impact and reach, and feasibility that the funding would provide outcomes for dissemination. Following reviews and discussion, the committee made recommendations to the Board of Directors who is responsible for making final decisions. Awardees are scheduled to be announced during the NCME Breakfast during the Annual Meeting in Toronto.

Later this spring, the committee will be launching a fundraising campaign to be able to support more projects and travel grants in the future. Be on the lookout for this announcement and we appreciate your support of the Mission Fund. If you would like to contribute to the fund, you can donate directly through NCME’s website by going to http://www.ncme.org/. Use the “Donate” button on the NCME homepage, login with your member information, select the NCME Mission Fund, and type in the amount you are donating. Any amount is appreciated! Also, if you have questions or innovative ideas for contributions or support for the fund (e.g., book royalties, in-kind contributions, bequests, appreciated stock) that you could make to the fund, please contact any member of the committee or the NCME central office.

Thank you in advance for your donation! NCME continues to make significant contributions to educational measurement. With your support, we can continue to do so.

Sincerely,
The NCME Mission Fund Committee
