Dr. Gorney's dissertation has been recognized for its pioneering work in using item scores and distractors to detect aberrant behavior in educational assessments. Dr. Kanopka's dissertation has been recognized for its exceptional contribution to psychometrics and educational measurement. His work introduces innovative models to address position effects in testing with machine-learning algorithm, the application of the drift-diffusion model to lexical decision tasks, and a novel metric for evaluating the fit of polytomous item response models.
